There are
similiarities between the reflection of light rays off mirrors and the reflection or
motion of billard balls on billiard tables. However, in the case of billiard balls, the
equal relation between the angle of incidence and the angle of reflection is not perfect. Small amounts of energy are absorbed
by the billiard balls and cushions of the billiard table as the balls bounce from one bank
to the next. This is also true of the putting hole and James Bond example. |
